Awards2005 - MaJa Kietzke and Anthony Sanchez present LAF program model at the 41st Annual Society of Municipal Arborists Conference July 2003 - Anthony Sanchez received the Governer's Points of Light Award, recognizing individuals who have served their communities and made a lasting contribution to Massachusetts. 2002 - Eagle Eye Institute won the 2002 Public Relations Award from the National Arbor Day Foundation for its "Trees Are My Friends" campaign. The award recognizes programs that effectively promote tree planting, conservation, stewardship and Arbor Day awareness. 2001 - Melinda Duffy, an Eagle Eye participant from 1992-96 and an Eagle Eye summer intern, won a prize in the Campridge Tree Project's 2001 Tree Poetry Contest Fall 2001 - The cover story of the Community Youth Development (CYD) Journal entitled "The Power of Nature, Using Trees to Build Community" was about the work Eagle Eye is doing, in partnership with YouthBuild USA to promote personal growth, environmental stewardship, and community service. 2000 - MaJa Kietzke, was presented with the American Society of Travel Agents' Environmental Award. MaJa is the co-founder of Eagle Eye Institute and also the founder of The Travel Specialists. 2000 - Anthony Sanchez named a Eureka fellow for year 2000. Eureka fellows commit to spending 200 hours over a two-year period in a learning community with peers improving their skills. February 2000 - Anthony Sanchez attended a Greater Boston Urban Resources Partnership grant award ceremony with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Somerville Mayor Dorothy Kelly Gay and Chelsea Councilman Juan Vega. Eagle Eye was also granted funds. |
